Paloma Creek Geography & Law Enforcement
I made a map for y’all. I copied the one from the FWSD and drew in all of Little Elm.
Full disclosure: I didn’t do very well in art class and my edges in Lakeside leave a lot to be desired. Everything along the lake belongs to the Corps. It is public land. That is where the hunting and fishing occurs. It will start September 1.
If you are wondering why the map is important, it matters due to enforcement. The LEPD cannot enforce the HOA CC&Rs anywhere. PERIOD. Some of you are confused about that and it is understandable. For example, they cannot tell your neighbor to stop shooting off fireworks. You can take a video and submit it to the HOA with all of the pertinent information. It is also illegal to litter, so you could turn them in for Messing With Texas to the LEPD. Sometimes, we have to be creative.
On the other hand, some of you are asking them to enforce Little Elm city ordinances (aka laws) like noise restrictions. They can’t legally do that unless you live in Lakeside, it is coming from the commercial properties on 380, or the road in front of Braswell and Bell. All of those areas are IN the town of Little Elm.
It does NOT matter what you mail says. Everyone needs an address. Most of us have a Little Elm postal address, some of us have an Aubrey postal address, but the vast majority of us do not live in Little Elm. If you want to know “where” you live, check your taxes or your water bill. If it goes to the town of Little Elm, you are in LE. If it goes to Mustang, your FWSD will be listed.
I hope this helps clear up confusion. Please let me know if you have any questions.
